How it worksShow guide

Introduction

PDF Flipbook turns a PDF into an interactive digital book in your browser. Pages render locally — the file never leaves your device, and the viewer keeps working offline after the tool has loaded.

Step-by-step

  1. Drop a PDF onto the page or choose a file.
  2. Wait while pages are prepared — only nearby pages are rendered.
  3. Turn pages with click, swipe, corner fold, or the arrow keys. Add a front or back cover image from the toolbar — the cover opens as a single page, like a real book. Use the highlighter to mark a page. Autoplay, bookmarks, and the PDF table of contents are in the toolbar.
  4. Download the original PDF, or export a standalone HTML flipbook ZIP that opens offline without the PDF.

Worked example

Open a 40-page product catalog. On a laptop you see two-page spreads; on a phone you see one page at a time. Searching “warranty” jumps to the matching page with a highlight.

Use cases

  • Preview magazines, catalogs, and reports as a realistic flipbook
  • Read a long PDF on a phone with swipe navigation
  • Search, zoom, thumbnails, table of contents, bookmarks, autoplay, and fullscreen — all without uploading the file
  • Export a standalone HTML flipbook to open later, even offline
  • Present a document fullscreen during a meeting

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and rendered entirely in your browser. Bestrao does not receive or store the file.

Does this work offline?

Yes. After the tool assets (including the PDF engine) have loaded once, you can open local PDFs without an internet connection.

Can I open a password-protected PDF?

Not in this viewer. Unlock the PDF with a tool you trust, then open the unlocked file here.

Will a 200-page PDF freeze my browser?

The viewer renders only the current spread and a few nearby pages, then releases distant pages. Very large files still depend on your device memory.

How do I add a front or back cover?

Use the cover icons in the toolbar to pick a JPG, PNG, or WebP. That image becomes a real book cover: it shows alone, then opening the book reveals PDF pages 1–2. The cover is not PDF page 1. Nothing is uploaded.

What is the difference between Download PDF and Download Flipbook?

Download PDF saves the original file. Download Flipbook renders pages in your browser and packs a ZIP with index.html plus images, so you can open the flipbook later without the PDF or an internet connection. Very large PDFs may be too heavy to export this way; the tool will say so instead of quietly giving you the PDF.

Can I highlight or annotate pages?

Yes. Turn on the highlighter in the toolbar, then drag on a page to mark it. Marks stay on this device. PDF links, notes, and highlights from the file are also shown. PDF JavaScript is not run.

What reading tools are included?

Two-page or single-page spreads, thumbnails, the PDF table of contents, your own bookmarks, in-document search, autoplay, first/last, fullscreen, Ctrl/Cmd+scroll zoom, and double-click zoom. Flip options let you turn from page corners only and toggle page-turn shadows. A page number in the URL hash (#page=12) reopens that page.
