How it worksShow guide

Introduction

Compose JWT header and payload claims, then sign with HMAC (HS256/384/512) in your browser. Add iss/sub/aud/jti and automatic iat/exp/nbf offsets for local testing.

Step-by-step

  1. Choose algorithm and secret encoding
  2. Edit claims or paste header/payload JSON
  3. Generate and copy the compact JWT

Worked example

HS256 with a UTF-8 secret and exp=3600 produces a three-part token that JWT Decoder can inspect.

Use cases

  • Mint test access tokens for API clients
  • Experiment with claim sets before server implementation
  • Pair with JWT Decoder to inspect the result

Frequently asked questions

Is this for production auth?

No. Use it for local demos. Real auth should sign on a trusted server with proper key management.

What about RS256 / ES256?

This builder focuses on HS* (and unsigned none) via Web Crypto. Asymmetric algs can be added later.
